Leer Más ( Español ) Somos un festival de Cine Documental, presentado por Retransmisión en colaboración de gestores, artistas y espacios culturales de la ciudad de León, Guanajuato en México. Anualmente convocamos a cineastas y creativos en general a participar en una muestra durante cinco días en la ciudad, con el fin de generar un acercamiento entre las audiencias y un cine alternativo al de los grandes complejos de exhibición. En Docu Film León damos preferencia al cine documental que motive al debate entre públicos. Incentivado por actividades críticas como charlas, conferencias y talleres, que buscan ampliar las visiones en torno a nuestra realidad y sus representaciones.
Read more ( English ) We are a Documentary Film Festival, presented by Retransmisión in collaboration with managers, artists and cultural spaces from the city of León, Guanajuato in Mexico. Every year we call on filmmakers and creative people in general to participate in an exhibition for five days in the city, in order to bring the public closer to an alternative cinema to that of the large exhibition complexes. At Docu Film León we give preference to documentary films that motivate debate among audiences. Driven by critical activities: talks, conferences and workshops, which seek to broaden the visions around our reality and its representations.
Leer Más ( Español ) + La Selección Oficial será exhibida sin costo para la audiencia, en el mes de marzo del 2026 en la ciudad de León, Guanajuato en México. + Los documentales deberán estar debidamente subtitulados en español y en formato .srt, o por lo menos en su idioma original. + Los cineastas seleccionados podrán participar en sesiones de preguntas y respuestas en la exhibición de sus documentales. + En caso de que el cineasta seleccionado requiera una carta de invitación al festival, podrá solicitarla por correo electrónico. + Docu Film León brindará orientación y asesoría en caso de su asistencia (por sus propios medios) a las proyecciones y actividades del festival. + Todos los participantes que formen parte de la Selección Oficial, recibirán una constancia de participación firmada una vez concluida la muestra. + Las obras seleccionadas pasarán a formar parte del catálogo de "Retransmisión", por lo que podrán ser invitadas a otras proyecciones y recibirán descuentos de otras convocatorias. + Cada película seleccionada contará con una ficha completa en nuestra página web así como su sinopsis y medios de contacto. + Cada cineasta seleccionado será parte de los productos editoriales (digitales e impresos) del festival 2026.

No financial remuneration nor awards will be given. + The documentaries must be duly subtitled in Spanish and in .srt format, or at least in their original language. + The selected filmmakers will be able to participate in question and answer sessions at the screening of their documentaries. + We are willing to provide travel advice and official letters of invitation, at request. + The selected works will become part of the "Retransmisión" catalogue, so they may be invited to other screenings and will receive discounts from other calls. + Each selected film will have a complete file on our website as well as its synopsis and contact information. + Each selected filmmaker will be part of the editorial products (digital and print) of the 2026 festival.

Read more ( English ) + Registration can only be done at FilmFreeway. + Registration is open from the publication of this call until January 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Mexico City time). + The Official Selection will be chosen by members of Retransmisión and Docu Film León. Your decision will be final. + Films may be of any language, but must include English or Spanish subtitles. If selected, we will request an “.srt file” with subtitles in English or Spanish. + Advertising marketing, political campaigns or hate speech will not be accepted. + The publication of the selected films will take place on monday, February 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. (Gmt-6) on the social networks and website of Docu Film León. + If selected, a digital copy of the documentary must be sent in HD, in mp4 format, as well as subtitles if necessary. + Those selected must send a Press Kit in addition to their documentary, which must contain: - HD Stills + Docu Film León will contact the selected filmmakers to manage the receipt of the required material. + Certificates of participation will be delivered within 6 months by email. + This is a non-profit exhibit.
